Megan Bawden, Director at WRMK Lawyers, has entered her retirement following 18 years in the legal profession, on 31 March 2023.
Megan is a highly respected lawyer specialising in trusts, medico-legal and elder law, and is well-known around Northland.
Law was her second career, following a successful 20-year long career in the health sector. She joined WRMK, then known as Webb Ross, as a Law Clerk in December of 2005 before being admitted as a barrister and solicitor in October 2006.
Megan progressed through the firm rapidly, becoming a Director in 2010, and leading the firm’s estates and life planning practice for a number of years.
“It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve my clients, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, working alongside my fellow directors at WRMK, of growing our law firm into the largest in Northland,” Megan says.
WRMK Managing Director Wayne McKean says, “Megan joined the firm with the most impressive academic record we had ever seen, and her ascent from lawyer to partner was the most rapid in the firm’s history. She has been a valuable Board member and team leader for thirteen years. On behalf of WRMK and all of her long-standing clients, we wish Megan the very best as she retires.”
WRMK Lawyers now has over 90 staff across four offices, including 9 Directors* and a further 29 lawyers/law clerks. The firm’s estates and life planning team is now led by Director Andrew Easterbrook.
