Wayne is a highly accomplished client advocate, with over 20 years' experience in the law. He leads the firm, as one of our Managing Directors, and also heads WRMK’s litigation team.
Wayne has many years’ experience in general civil litigation and looking after the legal affairs of a broad range of private and commercial clients. He also has particular expertise in resource management disputes.
Wayne has a well-deserved reputation as an excellent criminal lawyer, advocating for both private crime and legal aid clients, leading cases in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
ABOUT Wayne
Outside of work Wayne is full of energy. He enjoys all sports, particularly playing golf. He loves the ocean, is a keen free diver and fisherman. He loves gardening. For relaxation, he will spend time in the kitchen cooking with a glass of wine.
RECENT EXPERIENCE
- Wayne recently had the privilege of appearing in the Supreme Court on a matter for which he won for the client in the Court of Appeal. The case concerned the extent of police powers to seize telephone calls made by a client.
- Successfully settled a subdivision case in the Environment Court over the ability of a client to subdivide rural land under the proposed District Plan. Wayne is currently working on the appeals before the Environment Court for the Proposed Regional Plan.
