Experienced Legal Assistant (Secretary)

We’re looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Whangarei life planning team. In this varied role, you will be supporting one of our senior Directors who specialises in elder law, trusts and life planning, so exposure to these areas of law would be an advantage. You’ll be organised, proactive and a good communicator.

Duties include:

  • Assisting your author on a variety of files including trusts, life planning (wills, EPOA) and elder law
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents
  • Generating firm precedents
  • Monthly invoicing and preparing statements 
  • AML client compliance
  • Diary and file management
  • Liaising with clients

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary/Assistant (experience in the life planning area would be an advantage but not essential)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Second-to-none attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously but also a team player
  • Excellent communication skills and passion for delivering top notch client service

Experienced Legal Assistant (Secretary)

In the past few years our regional offices have grown significantly.  We have a newly-created opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant / Legal Executive to join our Kerikeri team. You will be working closely with the team to support a broad range of legal work including trusts, relationship property and conveyancing.

Some duties of this varied role include:

  • Assisting author to manage trusts, life planning, conveyancing (residential and commercial), files
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents
  • Being involved in the conveyancing process
  • Using LINZ, ADLS webforms and generating firm precedents
  • Monthly invoicing and preparing statements 
  • AML client compliance
  • Diary and file management
  • Liaising with clients

Skills and experience

  • Experience as a Legal Secretary/Legal Executive in a “private client” practice
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Second-to-none attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously but also a team player
  • Excellent communication skills
