Senior Lawyer

We’re looking for an experienced lawyer to join our busy and friendly team. You will have worked in some or all of these areas: property (including residential, subdivisions and development), commercial, trusts, asset protection, and related advisory. You will have a warm and helpful manner, and value providing efficient, accurate and easy to understand advice for clients. You’ll enjoy client interaction and be interested in growing your practice.

This role will suit a capable intermediate lawyer looking to expand their skills. The role may be focused on commercial, property or trusts, depending on your existing skillset and where you wish to grow.

Skills and experience:

You’ll be a capable and well-trained lawyer with a decent amount of experience working in property, commercial and/or trusts law. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to build client relationships. You’ll enjoy working a part of team, but have the ability to take ownership of your practice, and show leadership.

You’ll be comfortable with technology and learning new systems, with very strong attention to detail. Experience working in a digital office environment (i.e. paperless files) would also be an advantage.

A senior level lawyer 4+ years PQE is the ideal preference, but good people outside of that brief will be considered with equal weight if they have the skills and ambition. It’s likely that you will be at intermediate/senior level with another NZ law firm, but you may also be an expat looking to return from overseas or jumping back into practice from a stint in-house.

Experienced Legal Executive

We’re looking for an experienced Legal Executive to join our busy Whangarei Property team. You’ll be supported by our lawyers, whilst being given autonomy to build relationships with your clients and really make this fast-paced role your own. This is a great opportunity to join a fun team who enjoy what they do and strive to be the best at it.

You’ll enjoy using technology, as we run a digital office, and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Duties include:

  • Managing conveyancing files from beginning to end (with both supervisory and admin support)
  • Providing support on property files
  • Assisting clients with First Home Grants and KiwiSaver withdrawal applications
  • Completing LIM and title reports
  • Dealing directly with clients on all aspects of transactions, using each interaction to develop the client relationship

Skills and experience:

  • At least two years’ experience working as a Legal Executive
  • Competent using LINZ and Webforms
  • Experience preparing bank documents for property
  • Experience working with paperless files an advantage
  • Enjoy working with, and teaching and learning from others
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously but also a team player
