WORKING WITH US

WRMK Lawyers is Northland’s largest law firm. Based in four offices across the North, we are proud of our reputation of being there for our clients whenever they need us. We believe in the importance of communication and being accessible, and have a strong focus on innovation, performance and excellence.

We’re recognised as an Employer of Choice in New Zealand for law firms. Our flexible working practices and friendly team environment mean our people enjoy coming to work, but have time away from the office to enjoy their families and the beautiful environment we have here in the North. You can read more about our team and culture below.

The work we do here is challenging and rewarding. We work in close knit communities and build strong, lasting (sometimes for generations!) relationships with our clients. We help families and businesses to protect what they’ve worked hard for, and grow it into something even better.

If you’d like to enjoy life in the North while your career flourishes, become a part of our team!

Please see our current job openings below.

Strong workplace culture

We have a non-hierarchical culture, led by a strong leadership team. Everyone in our firm is clear on “the way we do things here” and our leaders model the behaviours we expect from all of our people.

We believe a constructive, inclusive and achievement focussed culture delivers great experiences for our people, and drives our business success over the long term.

We are proud that our people choose to stay with us.

Real work for real life

Our work tangibly makes a difference in our clients’ day-to-day lives. We work for real people, in both personal and commercial contexts, rather than distant, no-face corporations.

We help our clients through major life events – buying and selling property, building businesses, forming or separating relationships, deaths – and we have the opportunity to make a real difference to our clients’ experiences of these events. Our people build strong, lasting relationships with our clients and the work is rewarding.

Flexibility and wellbeing

When it comes to flexibility, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all, which is why 46% of our people work flexibly.

Our flexible working programme enables us to work in ways that supports our lifestyle to help us balance our career with the other important things in life.

Our firm is committed to supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our people, including funding mental wellbeing initiatives for all staff, leadership development, staff sport and community events, social events and more.

Live and work in the North

Whether they’ve grown up in the North and never want to leave, returned home after experiencing the big smoke, or escaped the rat race, our people all love living in the North! Work-life balance is key at our firm. We know how to work hard – but we have fun doing it too.

Our flexible working programme enables us to work in ways that supports our lifestyle to help us balance our career with the other important things in life.

We don’t just hire people, we nurture them. WRMK is a strong believer in fostering our internal talent. We help our people move between teams, develop into new roles or experience secondments in our other offices to ensure everyone continues to thrive at work.

As the largest firm in the North, we are big enough to generate challenging work and provide internal progression opportunities, but small enough that we have the luxury of accelerating our peoples’ careers faster given the scope and breadth of the work and clients they are exposed to early on.

There are always seminars, learning lunches, training and development opportunities available for our people.

There are plenty of benefits on offer, such as free personal legal work, income protection insurance cover, paid study leave, banking packages, discounted health insurance and other wellbeing benefits.

We have fun and enjoy social activities together, including Friday night drinks, mid-year/end of year functions and family-friendly staff events.
