Ryan leads WRMK’s Māori law practice, with particular expertise in property and commercial law.
Of Ngāti Porou and Ngati Whatua descent, Ryan is passionate about helping Māori to preserve and protect whenua, awa and moana and other taonga, and grow Māori wellbeing as a result.
He works with his clients on wide range of matters, including property and business sales and purchases, corporate governance, trusts, succession planning, and relationship and family property law.
Ryan joined WRMK Lawyers (then known as Webb Ross) in 2001. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he was involved in fisheries research for several years, including assessing fish stocks and developing methods for farming marine life (aquaculture), including techniques for paua, crayfish and oyster farming.
Ryan is highly involved in the community, including acting as a Board member of the Northland Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Rubicon Charitable Trust and Chair of the Hihiaua Cultural Centre.
